Yesterday, January 10th

Hello Everyone,

Thank you again for all the prayers.

Yesterday morning, part of the reason we were asking everyone to join with us in prayer was because we had just received the results back from Alex's CAT Scan. The results were a bit alarming. We were informed that the left side of Alex’s brain, the healthy side, has at some point experienced a stroke. In some ways, this could effect Alex's recovery. There was also a large amount of swelling that was very concerning to the doctors because of the potential pressure it could place on the brain stem. At that point, it was not “clinically” looking good. However, based on the way Alex looks, in addition to the signs that he was exhibiting- you could not tell that was what was happening on the inside. Everything that we could observe from the outside was going well; his responses and vitals were nothing but pleasing.

In contrast to how the day started, last night was awesome for Lisa and Chad. Their night was full of prayer, reading scripture, and reading from the journal that everyone has been writing letters to Alex in daily at the hospital. Alex began to respond by squeezing their hand, and even got aggravated when Lisa went to take a shower.

“At one point we just laughed because we tried to replace my hand with his towel and he threw it across the bed. We were so happy and amazed to see this response!” -Lisa & Chad

“I know that no matter what happens at this point, no matter what the “clinical” reports or CAT Scans say, that it is in the Hands of a Higher Power, that is taking care of him.” - Lisa

Thank you again for you prayers and support.
