January 18th ( 11:00 pm)

Alex is resting peacefully and sleeping like a baby! He was so tired he couldn't make it to stay awake for our date with CSI/HORATIO.

The trach is a big success and he seems to be breathing beautifully on it and even got the hiccups tonight, lol! I asked him if his mouth felt better without all those tubes in there and I did get the official THUMBS UP! He is still frustrated and even pretended to be asleep when some of the family was in his room talking.... however, what he doesn't realize is that mom is now a nurse in training and I can read his heart rate on the monitor so there is no faking mom out, ha! Turkey was awake the whole time! Glad to know Alex is still in there.... being the Alex we all know and love!

Please continue to pray for him as our next goal is to get him off of the ventilator all together and him to be able to breath thru the trach all by himself. He has already come leaps and bounds so I have no doubt he is on the upside of this recovery process. Very very hard to believe that I have been in the hospital 12 days with him and that he is very much alive, breathing and communicating with emotions! God is amazing and continues to perform miracles in our lives daily... Believe me... GOD IS VERY REAL and Alex is living proof of that! The "clinical world" says... Alex shouldn't be here... GOD says... I have work for him to do here on earth... and he will!

Thank you all so very much for continuing to pray, sending your love, food, thoughts, cards, emails etc. I honestly don't think I could have come this far without you! So much of the jacksonville community is blessing me everyday by starting fundraisers for Alex and words can't express my gratitude for doing so on his behalf! THANK YOU! Someone should be posting all fundraisers on this page soon so that you know they are ligit and will have all details available at your fingertips.

I must give Shands and Alex's nurses major kudos as they take very good care of BOTH of us. Melissa, Michelle, Jeannie, Carol, Kim, Lori, Amber, Diane, Alisa...Doctor Tepas and Doctor Garcia.... YOU ARE ALL TRULY AMAZING!!! You are all a part of my little survivor and I can never repay you for the love, support and care you have given him. So glad he is on your "miracle wall" and we will all be getting together once he is out of Brooks Rehab so that YOU too can meet the Alex we all know him to be!

Please stay tuned to Alex's progress so that you can all see exactly what our God is capable of because he has only just begun and the rest will be an amazing story to tell!

PEACE~~ LOVE~~ N~~ THUMBS UP!
