TIRING DAY!

Alex started off this morning with physical therapy with him standing again.  We played connect 4 while he was standing to try and take his mind off of things... but he let me win so that he could hurry up and sit down, lol!  His back was hurting him today.... that comes from being in a bed for a month and not using those muscles.  I think he did fantastic!  From physical therapy we went to cognitive therapy where he was doing multiplication and writing the answers on an easel...WAY TO GO ALEX!  He got them all right!  I kinda think we owe a big thank you to Nurse Alisa from Shands for being able to do that because she worked with him alot while we were there.... always challenging him and getting him to think!  THANK YOU!  Next we went to Recreational Therapy where we played poker and Go Fish with Therapist Alison!  As you can see in the picture to the left, he was able to use the card holder and play and did great with reaching and asking for certain cards and playing them!  Amazing how you wouldn't think that a simple card game forces you to use muscles we all take for granted.  Simple movements like grabbing a card and reaching to put card on table.....MAJOR ENERGY FOR HIM.  Way to go Alex....SO PROUD OF YOU!

In case you wanted to know... MOM WON GO FISH! :0)

Spoke with the doctor today and prognosis of treatment as of today is 6 weeks... one week down... 5 to go! Of course this can change being more or less depending on how he progresses.  We all know he is superman speed and I did say 4-6 weeks is what I thought!  LET THE COUNTDOWN BEGIN!!!

Stay tuned tonight for more updates!  HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!

PEACE~LOVE~N~THUMBS UP!
