SURGERY TOMORROW! LASER Arytenoidectomy .... AHHHHH!

Sorry I haven't been on here and blogged this weekend... I kinda just took a break after my meltdown and regrouped with much needed family bonding time.  We enjoyed some stay home relaxing watching movie days.... celebrated my father-in-laws 61st birthday and enjoyed a memorial day dinner with some friends.

Today we spent our day at Memorial Hospital for Alex's pre op appt.  Alex wants me to tell you about an encouter we witnessed that he thought was hilarious.  We are sitting there waiting to be seen and there is this lady in a wheelchair who just can't seem to figure out how to get home or who she needs to call to get home.  This really sweet nurse came up and told her who she needed to call and gave her the address of where the taxi was to come get her.  Well once the lady got on the phone, she was a little disoriented and really couldn't get her words out as to what she wanted to explain so the nurse comes over and gets on the phone with the taxi... " Hi, Ms. so and so is incompetant and can't really explain what she really needs and where she needs to go".... the lady yells at her and says... " I'm NOT incompetant I'm just confused!!!!!"... he has been laughing about that all day.... GUESS YOU HAD TO BE THERE but he wanted me to share with ya'll :0)  We then met another older gentlmen who sat down beside us and proceeded to ask Alex what he was there for... well you know he has no filter.... so he tells the man his story then HE WANTS to know why the man is there.... the nice man we find out is a retired baptist preacher and is trying to be ever so discreet about why he was there but, Alex kept on and kept on to where this poor man had to tell him he was there for a growth in his rectum!  Alex simply looked at him and said... " You mean you have something in your butt?".... OMG.... this is what you get when you speak to Alex, lol!  NO FILTER... ALL OUT THERE...NO HIDING NOTHING... TELL IT LIKE IT IS...hahahahahahha.  I just love conversations with Alex and strangers.... he makes a way into their hearts, lol.

Tomorrow we have surgery which is scheduled for 7:30 am but have to be there 2 hours prior and be at Memorial at 5:30am ---- aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!  This means leaving my house at 4:30 which means we have to be up at 3:45-4:00 to get him dressed and in the car!  OH JOY!  Below I found a You Tube video that kinda shows what he is having done tomorrow.... scary!  If recovery goes well 3 hours after surgery... we should be able to come home!  Please pray for God to be with all hands on deck and that all goes smoothly and speedy recovery so we don't have an overnight stay!

Hoping to go to Brooks' baseball game tonight... will be off to bed early so I am blogging now and will do so after his surgery tomorrow to keep you all updated.  Thank you all for your prayers and support... Alex is a little anxious about surgery tomorrow but looking forward to another step closer to getting the trach out in another 6 weeks if all goes as planned!

Here are some pics from our memorial day weekend :0)
